The winners will receive return flights to Canberra, two nights’ accommodation, a merchandise pack and the chance to take part in a range of exclusive activities not on offer to the general public at the ADFA Open Day.
The Ultimate ADFA Open Day Experience competition aims to attract young Australians interested in gaining military and leadership training alongside academic study.
Open to people aged between 16 and 22, it gives the winners the opportunity to get up-close and personal with Australian Defence Force experiences, equipment and personnel.
“The ADFA Open Day Experience offers winners the chance to see first-hand what is on offer at the Academy and where their education can take them,” said BRIG Cheryl Pearce, Commandant of ADFA.
“Winners may experience a helicopter simulator, or helicopter flight itself, watch an infantry attack, ride in an armoured vehicle and spend personal time with Military Working Dogs.”
A 2015 winner, Darcie Andrea, who currently studying at ADFA attributes her life-changing decision to her experience as an Ultimate ADFA Open Day Experience winner.
“My experience at ADFA Open Day was the most exciting opportunity I’ve experienced. I’ve always dreamt of attending ADFA and pursuing a career in the Defence Force, so for me this experience confirmed that ADFA is exactly where I want to be.
“Every minute was jam-packed, and I felt honoured to have been a part of this experience,” said Darcie.
This year’s competition requires entrants to choose one of six quotes about leadership, and explain, via an online form, why that quote resonates with them the most.
The three most creative entries will win the full experience.
The 2017 ADFA Open Day will be held on Saturday 26 August and provides the opportunity to learn everything you need to know about life at Australia’s finest military and academic training institution.
