In what is the first of two virtually must win home games in a row for the Magpies, Lawrence says stopping Oberon’s “go forward” is key to reversing the result of the two sides previous encounter.
The Tigers edged out Cowra 30-20 in round two action on Easter Saturday at Oberon.
“They have a couple of big forwards we need to control. Their captain Branighan plays off the back of that,” he said.
This match and next week at home against Blayney are hugely important to Cowra’s season, following last week’s 32-20 loss to Mudgee.
“The next two games are basically must win to keep in touch with the top sides,” Ronald Lawrence said.
“We don’t want to have to rely on results at the end of the year, we want to earn our spot,” he said.
The game’s scheduled for a 2.30pm start this Sunday.
