Falcon’s Fury qualified on Saturday night, winning heat six of eight, breaking the 30 second barrier for the third consecutive time over the distance.
He’s now registered 10 triumphs from 14 starts, earning close to $30,000 prizemoney.
He enters the final as the second quickest qualifier behind Forbes chaser Brad Hill Billy, trained by Raymond Smith, who stopped the clock a one-hundredth of a second quicker in heat three.
The Central West duo headline the decider, facing off in what will be a blockbuster showdown.
The winner pockets $75,000.
Meanwhile, Cowra hosted its first greyhound race meeting of 2017 on Saturday night.
Maiden winners included Stoneage Romeo for Dean Maniaci, Richard Griffith’s trained Bold Lad and Subzero Cell based in Parkes under the care of Robert Harrison.
Wesley and Kylie McDonald took out the quinella in Brooks Beds R Us Stakes (524m) with Sheza Fusion edging out kennelmate, and the more fancied runner, Noah’s Fusion by more than three lengths.
It was Sheza Fusion’s fourth win from a 27 start career, her first at the Cowra track.
