The Cowra Musical and Dramatic Society has rebooted its production of 'After The Flags and Bands' for the 2015 Festival of International Understanding.
The wartime drama looks at the role of women in a world disrupted by the outbreak of World War 1.
A young maid, shop assistant, nurse and mother (played by Caitlin Devery, Cassandra Bird, Katie Burgess and Rebecca Foster) band together with laughter and plenty of cups of tea as they face the realities of war, both at home and on the frontline.
The play, which originally ran in November last year as a part of a variety show, has been revived as 2015 marks the centenary of the Gallipoli landings.
Director Jenny Thompson said the M&D has a long association with the Festival of International Understanding.
She said while many wartime stories focus on the men who went away, this play shows the war on a different front.
"It's an insight into the lives of the women left behind," Mrs Thompson said.
"It's a reminder of the horrors of war and the futile hope that it'll never happen again."
The play will run at Cowra Civic Centre from 12pm on Tuesday, March 10, and from 1pm on Thursday, March 12.
Tickets are $5 which includes light refreshments.
