The Grenfell RSL Sub-Branch has hosted a successful Commemorative Dining In Night on Saturday, 3 May.
Hosted at the Grenfell Country Club, guests were invited to experience a traditional Australian Army Mess Dinner.
During the night, there was an explanation of Conduct and Traditions of an Australian Army Mess Dinner.
Grenfell RSL sub-Branch President Glen Ivins said they had a great turnout of 88 people at the Commemorative Dining In Night and the night was fantastic.
The guest speaker for the evening was Bryce England (Rtd Captain Australian Army) who talked about his service and life after serving.

Mr Ivins said the speech by Bryce was very well done and well received.
Each year the Commemorative Dining In Night features the customs and traditions of a different branch of the armed forces, with next year's event to be hosted in the the traditions of the Royal Australian Air Force,
Mr Ivins said the traditions and customs change between each branch, though the Air Force and Army have very similar traditions due to the Air Force originally evolving out of the Army.
There are a huge amount of different traditions in the Royal Australian Navy Mess dinner, Mr Ivins said, due to a lot of traditions coming through from England.
During this year's Dining In Night, Mr Ivins temporarily stepped aside as President on the night as he served in the Royal Australian Navy. His duties on the night were assumed by Seargent Kirsten McKellar who is serving in the Australian Army.
Mr Ivins said he would like to thanks the Grenfell Country Club for all of their help and assistance and Monica Welsh from Word of Mouth Catering for providing the dinner.
Mr Ivins said he would also like to thank the Grenfell community for their support of the Commemorative Dining In Night.
