Numbers were down and quality improved for the heavy weight lambs which were in top condition.
There were mainly heavy and extra heavy lambs penned while trades were reduced in number, stores increased in supply. All the buyers were operating along with an extra and competition was stronger resulting in a dearer market especially for the heaviest lambs which jumped significantly.
Light lambs to the processors sold from $152 to $166 up $10 while store lambs sold from $132 to $184 up $7 to $15/head. Medium and heavy trade weight lambs were $1 to $8/head dearer and averaged 830c to 850c/kg cwt.
The heavy trade 23 to 24kg sold from $185 to $217/head.

Heavy weight lambs were $4 dearer and extra heavy weight jumped $20 to $30/head and averaged from 850c to 950/kg cwt. Heavy weight lambs sold from $212 to $224 while extra heavy weights sold from $259.20 to a top of $346.20/head.
Mutton numbers remained steady and prices lifted $8/head with quality improving. Heavy first cross ewes sold from $164 to $243/head or 590c/kg cwt.
