ERTHWRX25: A Decade of Science and Culture Celebrated in the Central West

A major community event marking 10 years of science, art, and cultural collaboration will take place across the Central West this August, as ERTHWRX25 returns from 8–17 August 2025.

Presented by The CORRIDOR Project in partnership with the Orange-Cowra-Cabonne Science Hub, the event will feature a dynamic mix of exhibitions, panel discussions, storytelling, workshops, and film screenings. Held on Wiradjuri Country, ERTHWRX25 celebrates a decade of programs that connect Western science with First Nations knowledge to better understand local ecology, wildlife, climate, and place.

This year’s program brings together scientists, cultural knowledge holders, artists, ecologists, academics, and the wider community. Topics include biodiversity and regenerative farming, First Nations astronomy, soil health, fungi, renewable energy, water sustainability, circular economies, and the future of agriculture.

The event will also explore the role of cultural museum collections and the ways both Indigenous and non-Indigenous science can shape more sustainable regional futures.

The Corridor Project, which leads the Science Hub, says the event showcases the region’s strengths in interdisciplinary, community-led science and culture.

Locals are encouraged to attend and take part in the celebration of knowledge-sharing, storytelling, and regional innovation.
