Fourteen Central West councils came together in early August for a meeting of Centroc with senior federal ministers at Parliament House in Canberra. Michael McCormack MP arranged for eight ministers, including Deputy Prime Minister, Barnaby Joyce and Senator Fiona Nash, to meet with Centroc representatives.

“There are more regional Members of Parliament around the Cabinet table than there has been in decades, if ever, and so we need to take advantage of it,” Mr McCormack said.
Councillor West thanked Mr McCormack for making sure the Centroc board was able to meet at Parliament House.
“The opportunity to talk to Ministers is very crucial to what we do in Local Government,” Cr West said.
