Club president Bryan Dawes thanked organiser Helen Capps and in the true Christmas spirit Phyllis Bryant thanked our Maker before the meal.
“I enjoy club gatherings as the atmosphere is always cordial and friendly,” Judy Siegert said.
“Club events allow us to renew acquaintances, meet new people and mutually admire the finished handiwork of hours put into vehicle restoration.”
The MHMC formed in June 2013 when eight people banded together to accommodate a wide variety of interests in older vehicles, motorcycles, truck, tractors, and stationary motors. Membership of the fledgling club has climbed past 60 and in less than three years more than 240 different events have attracted member participation.
Carl Siegert explains, “From a very young age I’ve been fascinated by mechanical things. Learning the nuts and bolts of machinery has enabled me to repair farm equipment and restore historic vehicles. I’m now bringing my third old car back to life. Our club’s social occasions enable like minded people to fraternise, exchange ideas and experiences and drive much loved older vehicles.”
Club meetings are held on the second Wednesday of each second month at the Uniting Church’s Wesley Centre in Cowra at 7:30pm. On April 2,2017, the MHMC expect 100 older vehicles at the Showground when it hosts sister motor clubs for the South West Get Together.
