Righting the wrongs against Monash

Former deputy prime minister of Australia and former Australian ambassador to the Holy See, the Honourable Tim Fischer AC, was kind enough to present four copies of his book Maestro John Monash – Australia's Greatest Citizen General to the Cowra Community.

Mr Fischer presented the copies to the Cowra Vietnam Veterans Association at the Battle of Long Tan memorial service this year where Mr Fischer was a guest speaker.

The book drawson a broad array of material and seeks to right the wrongs against Monash meted out by the small and the prejudiced.

Of the four copies, one has been donated to Cowra Library, one to Cowra High School and one to St Raphael’s secondary students. The final copy of the book will be held by the Cowra Vietnam Veterans Association.

A former Australian Army officer himself Fischer, has written a number of books including: Seven Days in East Timor: Ballot and Bullets,  Holy See, Unholy Me! 1000 Days in RomeAsia & Australia: Tango in Trade, Tourism and Transport and many more.
