Morongla Show Publicity Officer Marlee Langfield said it was a great community service that the Morongla Show was able to host the challenge.
“The Young Farmers Challenge is designed to promote excellence in farming and showcase the involvement of youth in agriculture,” she said.
The event kicks off at Morongla Showground from 10.30am sharp, where teams must complete a set of agriculturally focused challenges; these could be animal handling, fencing, firefighting, first aid or heavy lifting.
Emphasis is placed on completing each challenge with the correct technique and safest work method.
Participants must form a team of four with at least one member of the opposite sex and aged between 18-34.
It is preferred that teams register with Steph Fowler on 0428 552 879 before the day, however team are able to register on the day.
The winning team takes home a $200 voucher from the Aussie Hotel Cowra.
There’s also another major prize that the winning team can look forward too.
“This is a Sydney Royal Easter Show qualifying event,” Marlee said.
“The winning team goes on to compete in the Sydney Royal Young Farmers Challenge statefinal in April next year.”
