The Raiders front rower, who was the club’s rookie of the year in 2014, has developed hugely during the past two seasons, marking himself as one of the most damaging upcoming forwards in the game.
At just 24, Boyd has racked up 65 NRL appearances and he’s contracted at the Raiders until the end of 2018. Boyd says making the move to the capital was a "pretty big" decision, but he wouldn't have it any other way.
"Canberra's not too bad compared to Sydney, I wouldn't have been able to do that when I was a young fella," Boyd said. "The club's been good to me the whole way through it and that made it a lot easier for me."
A grand final appearance would be the pinnacle of Boyd’s young career and the first for Canberra since 1994. Boyd’s first NRL preliminary final appearance will kick-off at AAMI Park at 7.40pm this Saturday.
