Chor Farmer Concert
This concert will mark 40 years of visits to Cowra by Chor Farmer who have visited every two years since 1976.
The visit to Cowra is part of the choir's 20th Goodwill Tour of Australia and New Zealand.
They will perform only two concerts in Australia.
Chor Farmer was organised in Tokyo University of Agriculture in 1967.
The choir marks its 50th anniversary next year.
Led by Musical Director and Conductor Hiroshi Masumoto - who founded the Choir in 1976 - the Choir will perform a variety of numbers from their repertoire which includes world folk songs and popular music as well as classical music including Schubert.
Choir members are billeted for the weekend with Cowra families, most of whom have hosted the same choir members over many years. All proceeds from the Cowra concert will go to the Cowra Seikei Student Exchange Programme.
Members of Chor-Farmer have donated many thousands of dollars to the Chor-Farmer Trust Fund, which is used to support the Seikei Exchange program to cover travel and insurance costs for Cowra students participating in the exchange.
