On Wednesday, the Cowra product went toe-to-toe with Kevin Engel at the Cowboys Dance Hall in San Antonio, Texas and Lovett made light work of the American, ending him in the corner with a flurry of powerful punches during the second round.
Engel, a veteran now with 34 fights to his name, replaced Dustin Echard on late notice.
Echard and Lovett were originally on the card to meet until the man from Washington - who boasts a record of 11 wins and one loss - abandoned the fight only a few days out from the event.
Since making the move in January 2014 Lovett has thrived in the US boxing environment and has taken every opportunity to full advantage.
The 30-year-old's determination is something that has caught the eye of legendary trainer Ronnie Shields.
Under Shields' mentorship and with the sport's most powerful man, Al Haymon, as his promoter, Lovett is ticking the right boxes and is exactly where he needs to be.
