The shine is shining once more through a historical leadlight window highlighting the Cowra Girl Guides story.
The window was restored after being rescued from the former Guide Hall in Macquarie Street.
It was in three parts and stored by the Cowra Historical Society, who supervised its renovation by a leadlight window expert in Sofala.
The window was created for the former Guide Hall for its opening in 1946 in memory of Mrs Ada Hutchison's daughter Barbara - a Girl Guide who died as a teenager.
Mrs Hutchison was the driving force for the building of the Guide Hall, which was demolished a decade ago.
Cr Ray Walsh said the installation was also a tribute to Ada Hutchison's community involvement, her daughter Dorothy Cox's long-term librarianship in Cowra, and also to the many leaders and girls who served in Cowra Girl Guides.
After having the window restored, the Historical Society approached Cowra Council who agreed for the window to be installed permanently in the library.
Mrs Henley, the daughter of Ada Hutchison, travelled from Canberra for the opening and described the rededication as a very moving personal event.
Cowra Council carried-out the installation, assisted by Cowra District Historical Society and Ken Hutchinson.
