Tying in with Education Week (July 27-31) the initiative aims to strengthen ties between local public schools.
Principals and staff from public schools in Cowra, Canowindra and surrounding districts have been meeting regularly over the past two terms to discuss the formation of the group.
Mulyan principal John Smith said the collaboration will benefit teachers, students and parents.
"It's a way to ensure strength of teaching from kindergarten to year 12 and make sure links between the schools are strong," he said.
"We'll be hosting professional learning events together, helping with the curriculum and the transition as students move from year six to seven."
The LVLC aims to build a strong, united Public Education system in the Lachlan area, sharing of expertise, resources and experiences to provide students with a broad and inclusive curriculum.
The iniative involves local public schools including, Cowra High Sschool, Cowra Public Sschool, Mulyan Public School, Canowindra Public School, Canowindra High School, Koorawatha Public School, Holman Place, Holmwood Public Schoo and Woodstock Public School.
To help celebrate the Lachlan Valley Learning Community, an Education Week, Lachlan Valley Schools Spectacular helped kick off the launch on Wednesday and Thursday night.
Eighteen items were performed on both nights and involved more than 300 students and 30 school staff members from all nine LVLC schools and six community members
An impressive display of dancing, drama, band performances, verse and singing from all schools kept everyone entertained, with both concerts selling out.
"Part of the Lachlan Valley Learning Community will be the fun parts like the concert and we're hoping to have more things like it," Mr Smith said.
"The schools started organising it in term one so it was a big effort from everyone."
The combined bands of Cowra High School, Cowra Public School and Canowindra Public School particularly impressed, having only had their first rehearsal all together the morning of the concert.
An art display is also on show at Cowra Library and will run until August 28. This is a showcase of art works and sculptures from of the LVLC schools.
All proceeds from the concert will go to Careflight and Stewart House.
