Mina Roberts and Jess Fardon are in their third year of studying medicine at the ANU and will be in Cowra for a year of practical learning.
Ms Roberts is originally from Perth, while Mrs Fardon calls Blayney home.
"When I am finished I would like to work within an hour of Blayney, so having practice in Cowra is great," Mrs Fardon said.
The students will continue their theory through ANU, as well as getting hands on experience at Cowra Hospital and the Kendal Street Medical Practice.
The welcome to Cowra get together was organised by ANU's Susan Schiller, and was held at the Impy Hotel.
The new registrars were also at the event.
