The updated NVD's are 0413 versions for cattle, sheep and goats and 0412 for bobby calves.
A number of major meat processors will already only accept the latest LPA NVD's - while older NVD's still meet regulatory requirements, they no longer satisfy the commercial needs of the livestock industry.
Cowra Associated Selling Agents recommends that all producers update their LPA NVD's by purchasing a new book or E-decs as soon as possible.
Transitioning to electronic NVD system would avoid future redundancy problems caused by printed forms, as electronic NVD's could be immediately updated to meet changing marker requirements.
If producers want to attract full competition and acceptance of their livestock they must have the latest version 2013 LPA NVD's by January 1, 2015.
Safemeat will provide further advice to the market as the situation evolves, but producers are now on notice that they will need to either purchase the latest version of the LPA NVD book or access E-Decs to avoid any problems with the acceptance of old LPA NVD versions.
