The newly appointed president, Robert Oliver, has had an association with the club for over 20 years as a playing member and, whilst owning Lachlan Fertilisers, as a major sponsor.
"I've only ever been on the board once and that was some years ago," Mr Oliver said.
"Our main aim now is to try and increase memberships and the flow of traffic through the club, we'll be doing that through newsletters, advertising and working with the Cowra Guardian and Cowra Tourism."
"We're encouraging not only golf members but social members as well."
The newly formed board of directors sees three members sign on again.
Mr Oliver was happy to have Club captain Dion McAlister and Club Champion Peter Kirwan retain their roles as Captain and Vice-captain respectively.
"It's good to have some continuity especially with the captains who run the golf tournaments every week," he said.
"New faces" on the board are John Campbell (Vice President), Terry Winwood-Smith (Treasurer), Terry Coates, Gordon Willson and Norm Keay (Committeemen) while Paul Jones (Committeeman) joins Kirwan and McAlister for another year.
One transition which will occur early next month will be that of the new Club professional.
Mr Oliver told the Cowra Guardian on Wednesday morning that current golf pro Steve Cains and his family will be returning to Canberra and Matt Docking, who is coming from the Murrumbidgee Country Club, will take his position.
The new president said he's looking forward to working with Docking, particularly in building on the number of junior golf members in Cowra.
"With Steve leaving during January we'll need a smooth change over," Mr Oliver said.
"Our new pro is going to be concentrating on getting more playing members to the club and getting junior members through the club by visiting schools and having junior clinics."
Mr Oliver added that the club is currently holding a Christmas promotion where members who introduce friends that sign up as a playing or social member of the club, will get a voucher to go in the running to win a $50 voucher which will be drawn at the end of February (when the promotion ends) to be used in the club or the pro shop.
"The Club's for everyone in Cowra to use, come and enjoy the facilities of the club, it's a beautiful outlet," he said.
"Why not make the golfy your club?"
