The new Discount Dave's team began their training last week ahead of Tuesday's store opening.
Of more than 120 people interviewed from Cowra and the outlying villages, 22 will don the orange and black as the variety store opens its doors to the public for the first time.
Bernardi Group's director of operations Peter Bernardi said they're excited to bring the Discount Dave's brand to Cowra.
He said staff from other regional stores will help out in the first few weeks in order to ensure the opening goes smoothly.
This will be the sixth Discount Dave's store for the Bernardi Group with their other stores located in Bathurst, Blayney, Forbes, Parkes and West Wyalong.
The store is only the second stand-alone Discount Dave's in existence; most of the others are inside a supermarket.
Mr Bernardi hopes to open four more Discount Dave's stores in the region over the next six years, 10 stores in total.
He believes the store is plugging he gap left in the Cowra market by the departure of Crazy Clarks earlier in the year.
"We believe it will do well here, we exist in Parkes in competition with Kmart, Big W and other large chain stores," Mr Bernardi said.
Discount Dave's stocks a massive range of general merchandise and groceries sold at discounted prices.
