Cowra High Year 9 student, Jai Doolan, has begun what he hopes will be the start of a promising career in the NRL with the Penrith Panthers, having made selection into their under 16s Harold Matthews Cup junior representative training squad.

The young Magpie has been given the opportunity after impressing at a four day camp at Narrabeen for Indigenous rugby league players.
Doolan also made the respective training squad at the Canberra Raiders however will take the opportunity at the foot of the Mountains as he can live with family in Sydney while he undertakes training.
Jai, who is 15 years old, is among a group of 25 talented young rugby league players who have been selected to train, some of whom will be culled before the Matthew's Cup competition begins early next year.
