Building on the successful fun run that was organised as part of the National Cherry Festival last year the Youth Council has renamed the community event and are expecting up to 1,000 runners to participate in the fun run on Sunday 16th November.
The aptly named Cherry Chase will include a 5km and 10km event along with post race entertainment all staged at Chinamans Dam.
The Mayor of the Young Youth Council Isaac Northcott is keen to see the event grow even bigger and better in 2014.
"Last year we had just over 200 participants.
"There were lots of locals and a few visitors from interstate and even overseas," he said
"We really want the Cherry Chase to be a social event that the entire community and visitors get involved in- you can run, cheer or volunteer," he said.
"It is the perfect time to visit Young as it coincides with the beginning of cherry season.
There is a real buzz in the town." he said.
It is time to dust off your running shoes and get training for this exciting event.
