This year was the first time I have been to the Cowra Show.
I was disappointed on three counts.
First, the difference in entry fee from day to day, especially the age pension only discount.
Surely a person on a disability or carers pension should also be entitled to the same discount.
Secondly, the food available to me at the time was very unsavoury and overpriced, some even appeared to be selling the previous day’s leftovers at full price.
Thirdly, and the most disappointing, was how the crafts were displayed.
A beautiful hand crocheted rug/shawl was displayed scrunched up and hanging on nails.
All of the patchwork and crafted quilts were also displayed - in my opinion - not necessarily the most attractively, hanging off hooks and bunched up. None of the quilts was easily observed.
I would much rather have seen the patterns on the quilts, not just the borders of them. Will I go again next year, I don’t think so.
Denise Broom,
