Six ladies received their Certificate Three in Aged Care after completing 80 hours of work experience at Bilyara and Weerona Aged Care residencies.
Judy Wilson was the coordinator of the program and is extremely proud of the progress the ladies have made.
"The program ran for sixth months and they all put in so much hard work," said Ms Wilson.
"They were a committed group of girls, we started with around 20 and only the ones here today completed the certificate."
With an ever ageing population, the number of participants in courses and degrees for nursing, especially for aged care, is set to drastically increase.
"Nursing is the largest growing industry in Australia, it is important we continue training and promoting nursing," said Ms Wilson.
Sureway, in conjunction with Ms Wilson, has ensured the ladies involved in the certificate have all gained employment. The certificate qualifies the ladies as registered assistant nurses and is accredited Australian wide.
"Sureway put forward the Cert Three course to the ladies and three are now committed to becoming a fully qualified nurse, through university studies, " said Ms Wilson.
Sureway provides pathways to assist job seekers in finding employment. Most the ladies now work for Bilyara and Weeroona on a part-time basis.
Ms Wilson has been running the same certificates at Forbes and Dubbo.
