At the conclusion of the 36-hole event on Sunday, Kirwan finished on 2-over par with rounds of 70 and 74, seven shots adrift of Goulburn's Jake Mitchell who topped the leader board with 5-under for the tournament.
Attracting almost 200 golfers, one of the largest fields in recent times, Cowra professional Steve Cains said things ran like clockwork.
"You are always concerned about things that can go wrong such as weather, slow play or late players, but everything went off without a hitch," he said.
"The beautiful condition of the course at the moment favours the golfers who don't rely on fairway run, but to shoot 5-under was very good going."
