The joint was jumping as guests indulged in gangster style Italian food and free flowing booze, all while enjoying the 1920’s style tunes from the Cowra Jazz Band.
“Not only is this the main fundraising event for the Greenethorpe Soldiers’ Memorial Hall, it is also a terrific opportunity for the local community to get together for a fun night before the sowing season starts” said event organiser, Danielle Allen.
“The evening was a huge success. The money raised on the night through our fabulous auction items not only exceeded our expectations, but more importantly, all guests kicked their heels up and had a great time.”
With people travelling from the local towns of Cowra, Grenfell, and Young, and some people making the journey from Sydney and beyond, there was a mixture of classy dames, sharp shooting gangsters, crooked cops and shady ladies.
Best dressed male was won by Michael Kemp and best dressed female was won by Vanessa Thorley, Best dressed couple was Penny and Andrew Simpson.
Dodgiest gangster was closely contested between Mark Bryant who was a fabulously glam flapper and the very well armed winner, John Faulkes.
The strong community spirit for the local village of Greenethorpe, combined with fun and entertaining atmosphere on the night, makes this one of the local events not to be missed.
