Vice President Barbie Carne was in the Chair. Sympathy was extended to the McColl Family on the passing of their wife and mother Ann, a member of our branch. Our thoughts are with other members who have ill families.
Guests Donna Peters, Georgina See, Nerilee Cheney, Linda Stroud and guest speaker Kaye Redhead were welcomed
Our fundraiser selling tickets at the show was a great success
Awareness Week is fast approaching. A CWA display will be held in the old Hippity Hop shop window from Monday 9th until Friday 13th September and a stall will also be at the Cowra Show.

CWA cookery books are available at the Hot Bake and any foreign coins can be left at Dynamic Travel
Mrs. Marjorie Osborne donated four quilts for Young's Women's Refuge
CWA Primary, High School and University Education Grants are open until 30th September. Contact Cheryl McAlister at Cowra High School for forms and details.
Meryl introduced Kaye who spoke of living and visiting South Africa. She went in 1990 for work and came home in 1993 with a husband in tow. Every year since then they have returned to Durban for a holiday. Kaye said it is sad to see the country decline from a jewel and salad bowl to a place of extreme poverty, crime, corruption and filth. Mary McCloskey thanked Kaye and presented her with a lovely bunch of native flowers from Jill Allen's garden.
Happy August Birthdays to Marian Freebairn and Pauline Walsh
Jo Chambers won the raffle a lovely Cook Book and muffins made from it by junior member Millie Casey, helped by her granny Rowena
NB: Due to the show the next meeting is on Wednesday 18th September in the Auditorium
