A generous donation by the Cowra Police Service, the ipad is an interactive tool in therapy for both children and adults.
"It has been a great addition to our toolbox of therapy ideas and activities and will be of use for some of our adult clients who require speech and language rehabilitation," Speech Pathologist Karen Trengrove said.
"The use of the ipad as an interactive tool in therapy with children has really assisted in engaging and motivating our clients at all times."
Mrs Trengrove said the ipad also assists parents to continue to guide their child through exercises at home.
"A lot of people have iphones now so they can use the same apps at home that we use here on the ipad," she said.
"If it helps to make home practice a bit easier and a bit more fun then I encourage it"
Children who are late to start talking, pre-schoolers who are difficult to understand and school aged children who have difficulties understanding teacher instructions and concepts involved in learning to read and spell are amongst those who will benefit from the ipad.
Speech Pathologists also work to rehabilitate adults who have suffered speech, language or swallowing deficits as a result of a stroke, head injury or degenerative neurological condition such as Parkinson's disease or Motor Neuron Disease.
The Cowra Health Service wish to thank the Cowra Police for their generous support.
