In January, a paltry 7.6mm of rain fell in Cowra, 6.4mm of which was recorded on one day alone.
It is well below the January average of 27mm and the 2012 total of 67.8mm and represents the third lowest January total in the past decade.
To February 20, there has been 14.4mm recorded across three days this month, so far also making it the third lowest February total since 2002 and not even close to the 58mm monthly average.
Combined, the 22mm of rain is the lowest total recorded in Cowra in recent time, 10.2mm behind the second lowest total, in 2010.
It is in stark contrast to a wet start to 2012, when Cowra experienced flooding rains late February, early March.
LATE UPDATE:
However, over the weekend there was a combined 3mm of rain up to 9am on Sunday.
Weatherzone has forecast rain over the next week.
