The awards, organised by the Master Dog Breeders and Associates (MDBA) and held in Brisbane, recognise excellence across 30 categories with the Master Breeder of the Year award acknowledging the standards of service, support and ethics provided to puppy buyers by breeders.
The Woodstock couple faced stiff competition from seven other nominees in their award category.
To be nominated for an award, the nominee must be a financial member of the MDBA and be nominated by a puppy buyer.
Ms Gill and Mr Levett breed Labradors specifically to take on future canine careers including work as guide dogs, assistance dogs, bomb detection dogs and sniffer dogs for organisations such as Guide Dogs NSW and Seeing Eye Dogs Victoria.
The MDBA represents registered dog breeders, dog welfare and rescue organisations, professional people working with canines and responsible pet owners.
