It was very pleasing to be able to welcome 38 shooters to the club on New Year's Day, Saturday, January 1 for the beginning of, hopefully, a better year of competition.

The highlight event of the afternoon was the Lachlan Valley Pointscore Championship with Justin Smith from Boorowa taking out the overall trophy with a score of 150/150 closely followed by local Cowra shooter, Tony O'Leary on 161/162.
Others to perform well were Russell O'Leary, Rob Peterson and Greg Oliver.
Well done to all.
The Jackpot Trophy off handicap was also taken out by Justin Smith after shooting 34/34 off the back mark of 25 metres.
Glenn McAllister and Jeff Nash, both from Orange, filled the minor placings.
Jeff was also celebrating his 86th birthday and is still one of the most competitive shooters going around the traps.
Congratulations must go to Justin Smith who was in very hot form winning the High Gun for the afternoon with a grand total of 200/200.
Excellent shooting against a strong field, Justin.
The next competition is on February 5 and will feature the Central Zone Single Barrel 50 target championship.
We hope to see quite a few here to vie for this prestigious title.
