The Henley Turust University and TAFE Scholarship is generously provided by the Tom and Margaret Henley Trust to promote and encourage students of Cowra High School and St Raphael's.
It is a once only grant which applies to the first year of tertiary education at a university or apprenticeship TAFE course following secondary schooling.
The amount on offer through the scholarship this year will be:
University - First year only: $5000
Apprenticeship/TAFE - First year only: $1000
The Rotary Club of Cowra is the trustee and invites all students who next year will be enrolling in a University or will be an apprentice/TAFE student to apply.
Applicants are instructed to apply if not already done so at their schools by calling Secretary Bill Murphy on 0417 211 364 or Kit Chambers on 6342 9260 or 0456 429 260.
Applicants can also email COWRAROTARYCLUB@gmail.com requesting an application form.
TAFE/apprentice applications close on January 15, while University applications are needed as soon as possible.
Rotar member Kit Chambers said the scholarship was a great opportunity for students.
"We thank the generosity and wonderful idealism of Tom and Margaret Henley when they set up this trust in 2003," he said
