One point separates veterans

The forecast of heavy rain for Thursday, November 25 did not arrive during the running of the Veterans nine hole stableford event and the 33 competitors enjoyed excellent playing conditions.

After a period of disappointing results Lester Black played some good golf to win the day in the Veterans event with 20 points but just one point ahead of both Ken Harcombe and Don Rocavert who finished with 19 points.



There were 8 Prize winners who are listed with their Stableford score and the 18 Hole Handicap they played off in brackets.

The prize winners will have their Veteran's Handicap reduced by 3, other entrants will have their handicap increased by 1.



The Cowra Golf Club's Golf Professional, Tom Perfect's, 18 hole stableford competition, open to all ages and run concurrently with the Veterans events.

There were 30 starters in this closely contested event with three players tied on 36 points with the order of merit decided on a countback, making the winner Jeff McPherson who finished the strongest.

1st Jeff McPherson 36 stableford points.

2nd Michael Prescott 36.

3rd James Paton 36.
