Please bring a folding chair and ladies, a plate for the Christmas Table to share.
You may wish to view the garden before the light fades at 7pm.
On November 6, Heather Kiely had showing of her amazing garden, as weather had been inclement a couple days before the Saturday.
Thankfully, on the day, the weather outlook was perfect for viewing and morning and afternoon tea, with a steady flow of visitors enjoying the spectacle.
Heather was kept busy answering queries on various plant species.
Thank you to the Garden Club members who made sandwiches and cooked for the morning and afternoon teas, manned the entrance and helped with behind the scene preparation.
Special thank you to Carol Dowd, Yvonne Bell, Sue Perkins, Jan War, Annette Bailey and Daphne Houghton.
Winner of the plant was Dale Jackson first, the painting went to second Diane Walsh.
For the three gardens on the Open Gardens weekend, November 13, the weather was not so welcoming, with the rain bucketing down and high winds all day.
The event went ahead with the dedicated coming out to view these wonderful gardens.
Visitors were noticed from other centres who made the trip to see the gardens, purchase from the trading table and get a raffle ticket with funds going to Cowra Riding For Disabled.
A cheque will be presented to a representative from Cowra RDA at the Christmas meeting.
President Heather Kiely would like to thank John and Judy Dutton, Garry and Gloria Kibbler and Norm and Chris Palazzi who graciously welcomed people to view their gardens in such difficult weather.
Also to all the Cowra Garden Club Members volunteering their help and serve on the roster for the day, the Open Gardens would not have gone ahead without this support.
The overall function of all these events was very successful.
Special acknowledgement for further donations received from Vanda Cassim, Annette Wilson, Leonie Heffern and Margie Ryan.
Winner of the vegetable and fruit hamper was Pam MaKay.
Thank you to the Cowra Guardian.
