Cowra Jockey Club president Peter Ford said the club had named a race at Saturday's meeting in honour of the workers.
"We've worked hard to make sure everyone who attends has a good experience," Ford said this week.
"The meeting is about social benefits, not economic benefits, for the town.
"We're concentrating on getting people back together, having a good time with friends with Christmas approaching."
On Thursday the club had already organised gazebos and under cover seating for 140 registered racegoers.
The first of six races starts at 1.55pm with the running of the Front Line Workers Thank You Maiden Plate.
Leading Cowra jockey Mathew Cahill has a full book of six rides at the meeting.
