Hodges will be back with his current team Giant Racing for another season while Tuckwell will be making the jump across from Rauland to the InForm TMX MAKE squad.

The debut season for Hodges with Giant hardly felt like a complete experience, with his national travel schedule coming apart due to border closures.

He did get to represent the team at several major events on the calendar, and sported the Giant colours at home during the Bathurst Cycling Classic, though travel around much of the country proved difficult with COVID-19.

Given that 2021 felt like unfinished business, Hodges was keen to come back with the team for another go.

"Being with Giant this year, there wasn't much racing, so I was keen to come back again next year. I think it will just be like an evolution of this year," he said.

Hodges, fresh off a state road race championship silver medal, will play an identical role within the team for 2022 that he held this year.

"The team will look pretty similar, though there's a couple of new really young guys, which is good. There's a fair bit of the team staying so it will be like trying to build on what the team wanted to do this year," he said.

"For me, I'll be looking to go well in the bigger events like Grafton and Warnambool, and potentially the Tour Down Under. I'll look to lead the team in those while in some of the smaller events I'll look to support and mentor the younger guys.

"From what the team has done as a group it's been great, but the number of times the team has been together has probably been only a few race days. The things that I have been able to be there for have been fun."

Tuckwell brings solid form to the InForm crew, with several top 10 results at road nationals and a top 10 finish at this year's Bathurst Cycling Classic among his best achievements.

"I'm taking the step up to one of Australia's best teams, InForm TMX Make. Team Rauland were amazing, though they're focused on trying to develop riders and get them ready to move into higher ranked teams," he said.

"I feel very privileged to have the opportunity to race with them next year. They're a team that provide pathways towards Europe but for me the focus is on NRS with them next season."

Tuckwell hopes that the 2022 season can be a chance for him to make a mark at the top level as he moves out of his junior years.

"The team has a really good conversion rate," he said.

"Three of the guys that have previously ridden for them have gone on to race on the World Tour, so I'm certainly in the right hands in trying to take myself in that direction."

The first target for both riders in 2022 will be Road Nationals.
