Join in the fun on Wednesdays from 10.30am with 1,2 Books and Thursdays for Storytime at 10.30am.
In 1, 2 Books! participants read books, sing and play to encourage language and literacy.
1, 2 Books! uses nursery rhymes, action songs, finger plays and stories in a fun and interactive way to develop literacy skills, stimulate imagination, and make reading with children a part of your everyday routine.
Sessions are lively and stimulating for both children and adults.
Cowra Library 1, 2 Books! is held every Wednesday during the school term and caters for babies, toddlers and children from birth to 3 years, and their carers.
1, 2 Books! is free and each session lasts about half an hour.
Parents and carers are also invited along to free Storytime sessions held on Thursdays from 10.30am to 11.30am.
The relaxed and friendly group enjoy stories being read aloud, sing songs, play games and do craft.
These sessions cater for babies to six-year-olds with evidence showing that reading regularly to a child from birth gives them a head start once they start school.
Reading stimulates brain development, builds confidence, listening and communication skills, and helps create stronger resilience and adaptability as they grow and develop.
That's why the library is passionate about their early childhood reading programs.
Bookings are essential due to current COVID-19 regulations, to take part in any of the programs call the library on 6340 2180 to register.
