Red Radials set to take off for Cowra

The Red Radials are on their way back to Cowra.

Taking off this weekend the team will be landing in Cowra over Sunday and Monday.

The lifting of COVID restrictions has allowed the Red Radials to raise their landing gear and set a course for Cowra and Cowra Rotary is giving one lucky resident the chance to take to the sky with the team.

Australia's premier Warbird community the Red Radials aim to provide professional skills guidance in aerobatic and formation flying.

The 25-strong group will be operating from the Fly Oz hanger at Cowra Airport, flying Russian Yak-52 aircraft.

To mark their visit Cowra Rotary is holding an online silent auction giving residents the chance to bid for a 15 minute joy flight for one person over Cowra in one of their planes.

Details on how to bid are on the Cowra Rotary facebook page.

The flight will be on Friday, October 29 or Saturday, October 30.

Last bids will be taken on Thursday, October 28 at 5pm with the winner will be announced later that evening.

All funds are being donated by Cowra Rotary to the Cowra Neighbourhood Centre.

Whilst they will primarily be based in Cowra the Red Radials will also use airfields at Werribee and Grenfell.
