After a rebuild year, the club has re-established itself with a solid platform of local talent that are now ready for the first grade arena.
Cowra Magpies President Marc McLeish said the whole playing group has really matured both mentally and physically this year and while playing in a reserve grade competition, they were subjected to some very high-quality opposition.
"Many clubs used the opportunity to give some first graders a bit of extra field time which is to be expected," he said.
"Our boys at times played against representative footballers which, while it seen us struggle on the day, it really helped develop the progression of those players that need to take the step to first grade gradually."

With several local players that didn't play this year putting their hands up and ready to commit, the club is confident that a local formula will continue.
"We don't want to undo what the players built this year," McLeish said.
"We will see what we have and if we need to add to it then we will have a look what's out there rather than the other way round.
"Every player in the club is considered a first-grade option and that includes many of our under 18 up and comings."
However, McLeish did stress that these things need to be dealt with now.
"We really need the players to step forward and declare their intentions now. We can't be waiting until January for people to commit," he said.
"While ever there is a doubt we can't move forward. We want to see as many faces at the meeting on Wednesday night as we can so we can have a great year together.
"Anyone attending the meeting is reminded that double vaccination proof must be shown to enter licenced premises and we can make it easy on staff to have that ready to go."
