This is an essential service that needs support to continue to deliver its vital work in our local community.

Meals on Wheels is continuing to service the Cowra and Weddin shires with hot and frozen meals daily during lockdown.

Its volunteers are more necessary than ever, bringing highly nutritious food as well as valuable social interactions to people who may be living in isolation.

It is easy for older people in our communities to be cut off during the COVID-19 pandemic, and Meals on Wheels is one of the ways in which our communities' ties are being maintained and strengthened.

It's all so much more than a meal.

If you have been looking for a way to give back, there is no better way than joining the Cowra/Grenfell Meals On Wheels team.

On dropping off meals to our residents, volunteers have the opportunity to say hello, check in with vulnerable members of the community and monitor their wellbeing.

If you have been looking for a way to give back to your local community, there is no better way than joining the Cowra/Grenfell Meals On Wheels team as a volunteer.

Service member Kerry Quin said both Cowra and Grenfell were in need of new volunteers.

"We have lost quite a few volunteers due to COVID-19 and older volunteers who have retired," she said.

"Both individuals and business groups are welcome."

Meals on Wheels believes in food security for everyone. You can volunteer your time as an individual, or join in with your work colleagues to deliver this valuable community service.

The service works every day to assist people to access the community, stay connected and ensure everyone is well nourished - in their mind, their body and soul.
