Mr McLachlan also asked resident to take hand washing and social distancing seriously.
Across the whole of Western NSW more than 37,000 COVID-19 tests have been undertaken representing nearly10 per cent of our population.
"A big thank you to the people right across Western NSW," he said.
Mr McLachlan did make a plea to residents not to base their knowledge of the virus on posts from social media.
"This is our time to keep Western NSW safe from COVID when we know there are significant challenges in other parts of the state.
"This is the time to see through to the finish line some of the requirements and opportunity for us to keep western NSW safe.
"Please don't listen to all of the spurious information that is being generated across some of the social media channels, it is inaccurate, it's really concerning that people are being fed lies."
