A last start winner Deshawn lines up for trainer Barry Wall in the fifth event on the program which was yesterday hit by a number of early scratchings, with Sydney trainers opting not to cover the extra one hour journey to Cowra for the meeting.
But the one thing that hasn't changed is Bathurst trainer Wanda Ings' big stable presence at the meeting, as she prepares to take up to 10 horses across to the track.
While the final numbers Ings takes will be dependant on Sunday and Monday's weather the Bathurst trainer is still certain to have plenty of horses worth watching in the her trip west.
Among those will be first-time starters Miss Embellish and The Rose, who start alongside stablemate Puja, to give Ings a triple threat in the Jamiesons Joinery F&M Maiden Handicap (1,100 metres).
"Both of them have shown us plenty of ability and we trialled them both at Cowra the other day," she said.
"Miss Embellish is a year younger, and she's done everything perfectly. She hasn't missed a beat. We've taken our time with her because she had a little injury before we got her.
"The Rose has shown outstanding ability but has just been unlucky, and has always been that little bit immature. She had a little virus at one stage so we gave her a decent break.
"The people who own her, Mike and Julie Lee, have been so patient with her. I've trained her mother, and she was a bit the same. She looks like a talented little mare.
"She'll be a little bit vulnerable on the heavy track first up, but she did trial there on a wet track the other day so we'll definitely take her over there."
"She went to Gulgong in her first start and well really well. She's a little mare who still needs to learn to race against a field and just get herself trucking," Ings said.
"They're all nice fillies and it wouldn't surprise me if all of them popped up in the finish."
The change from Bathurst to Cowra didn't come as a shock to Ings.
"It was something we were made aware of on the day that we accepted, and they told us it wasn't looking good," she said.
Ings currently has Moculta Warrior, Memphis Beau, Noble Banner, Raven Scout, Chur Bro, Pop Power and Williamson all in contention at Cowra.
