Apart from marking a milestone, a special gift was presented to Mr Tomlin from his wife Barbara - a new, outdoor gym, installed by Cowra Council and named in his honour.
The gym was dedicated to Mr Tomlin "in recognition of Max's contribution to the start-up and development of the West Cowra light industrial area and his influence on and encouragement of many an enterprising young person in the Cowra region".
"This community outdoor fitness gym is gifted as an extension of these efforts as a means of fostering the health and wellbeing of the Cowra community."
Around 120 friends and family attended the celebrations, including Deputy Mayor of Cowra Council, Judi Smith, who paid tribute to Mr Tomlin with a speech on the day.
