Childhood is one of the most crucial times for dental health, as this is when your little ones will be growing the teeth they have to live with for the rest of their lives.

The team at Cowra Dental Practice recommend having children's teeth checked at least once a year.

"You can also take advantage of our bulk billing for children," practice manager Jennifer Kang says.

"This can enable you to receive up to $1000 of free dental care for your children over two years."

Cowra Dental Practice began operating in 2014, when the current team of eight, including two dentists, took over the practice from Juan Varela.

The team offers an all-round approach to dental care, starting with a full clean and check.

"Regular visits with the whole family will make it much easier to keep on top of the potential dental issues you face," Jennifer says.

"Our primary goal at Cowra Dental Practice is to provide quality dental care in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere while offering the highest level of professionalism and service.

"We listen to our patients and develop a treatment plan, based on the individual needs and concerns, which aims to enhance your smile and help you keep your natural teeth for life."

At Cowra Dental Practice, technology plays a critical role in providing the patients with the highest standard of care.

Cone beam CT imaging enables the team to assess impacted and extra teeth, plan dental implants, review dental pathology and trauma, and assess TM joint arthritis.

There are also applications in endodontics and orthodontics.

"Patients benefit from no more out-of-town trips for CT scans when needed," Jennifer says.

"We also have intra-oral cameras. These are small hand-held cameras that fit comfortably in your mouth and display the image on to a monitor.

"This allows us to show you exactly where treatment may be needed.

"Digital x-rays emit much lower radiation compared with traditional x-rays.

"The images can then be enlarged and displayed on screen, enabling precise diagnosis and easier explanation of your treatment needs."

Cowra Dental is currently offering braces with Dr Han Kang. He is also planning to start Invisalign in the near future.

"We offer a full range of dental treatments, including clean, fillings, RCT, implants and orthodontics," Jennifer says.

Dr Han Kang has two children aged nine and six and so is able to understand and allay the fear many children have of the dentist.
