They travel anywhere in NSW to conduct Workshops for the local SES and Ambulance Services and our Cowra agencies were the recipients of a comprehensive workshop in working with large animals.
The workshop helps give SES and Ambulance people who don't have horses experience to be able to rescue them when caught in floods, motor vehicle accidents and any other predicaments safely.
The emphasis is on rescuing an animal which is in a high state of anxiety in a humane and safe way.
The main message is to stay calm, call a vet and then ring 000.
SES NSW mostly conducts the workshops at Riding for Disabled Centres so they can use the RDA horses for a live experience for the participants.
They also have a plastic full size model of a horse and a cow which they use to practise their techniques.
Cowra Riding for Disabled was pleased to host this valuable asset to our community and are very appreciative of NSW SES sharing their knowledge with our local Ambulance and SES.
