March was quite a wet month across the state, and while we will always welcome rainfall here in the Central West, it meant the cancellation of all planned walks.

The visit to Mt Tomah Botanic Gardens has been postponed to a future date, dependent upon the reopening of the Bells Line of Road.
Hopefully April will be kinder for us seeking to walk in the outdoors.
Future walks:
Sunday, April 11: Along the Ironbark walking track in Conimbla National Park. The track is a pleasant 1.5hr loop bushwalk with lovely scenic views, great birdwatching and wildflower photography opportunities. Leader is Janet 0432 838 005, grade is easy.
Sunday, April 18: Gosling Creek Reservoir (Orange) and surrounds. Leader is Jan 0437 136 398, easy grade.
Saturday, April 24: Yambira Fire Trail within Conimbla National Park. Leader is Judy 0421 783 672. The walk is 22km in distance, moderate grade.
Sunday, May 2: Ophir Goldfields Reserve, the scene of Australia's first gold rush. The reserve is a rugged yet peaceful reminder of the colonial past. The first Australian payable gold discovery was made here in 1851, just 30 kilometres north east of Orange. Now a picturesque picnic and camping ground at the junction of the Lewis Ponds and Summer Hill Creeks evidence of old alluvial, reef and deep lead mines is still visible to those exploring the area. We will tackle the Walking Track No 1 (2.4km), and if Lewis Ponds/Summer Hill Creeks is able to be crossed, Track No 2 (4.1km). Leader is Terry 0415 253 129, moderate grade.
All planned walks will leave from the Cowra Visitors Centre carpark at 9am unless otherwise informed.
