On Saturday, April 17, the Central West Branch of the Graduate Women NSW will be holding a dinner with guest speaker, Mr Jon Wickham who will speak on Anzac and the part played by the nurses who worked with and comforted the wounded soldiers on the island of Lemnos and on the hospital ships servicing Gallipoli.

Join was educated in Western Australia before moving to Sydney to take up a teaching position as a History/English teacher, moving to be head of the department and then, later to become the Headmaster.
His passion for WWI History saw Jon continue teaching History to Year 9 A History classes.
Following retirement, Jon and his wife Sally moved to Oberon where he runs a flock of prime lambs and farm.
Jon has taken many tour groups to Anzac Cove and the Western Front and those who have travelled with him and Sally can attest to his widespread knowledge of his favourite topic.
He is an entertaining and informative speaker imparting his passion to others.
In his spare time he enjoys his two sons, their families and engaging in charitable work for a Childrens Cancer Fund and is Director of St James Ethics Committee.
The dinner will be held at Cowra Services Club on Saturday, April 17 at 6pm.
The cost of the evening will be $40 for adults and $30 for school children.
All profits from the evening will go towards the Cowra and Canowindra HSC Scholarships.
