Bowling Club will be facing Cambridge Cats at Woodward Oval this Saturday in the one verses four semi final.
Day said the match would be a chance for his side to show what they are made of.
"It's probably a lucky thing for us that it's four team finals this year, whichever team wins two games in a row wins the comp," he said.
"So we are priming ourselves to do that and that's the plan.
"It's lot of what you play for, the business end of the season, so it's an opportunity for a few of our blokes to show what they are made of, with a fair bit on the line.
"We're probably a little bit disappointed with our finishing position, we sort of thought we were a slightly better side than one that finishes fourth, but that's the way it goes."
He said while he was under no illusion the match would be difficult, he was confident in the performance his side could produce.
"They only dropped one game all season so it's going to be a tough task to go over there and knock them off on their own turf," he said.
"But in saying that, we are quietly confident, I think every game we've played we've been right in it.
"It's just a matter of us really being switched on from ball one.
"We know they have a very strong batting line up so we'll have a few plans in place to negate that, their bowling is probably the weaker of their two disciplines so that's something we'll probably look to exploit on Saturday."
He said there were a number of Cats players they would be hoping to target and make the match easier.
"'Rabs' Heraghty got 80 odd against us last time, he gave us a chance early that we didn't take, that's probably the main one," he said.
"There are a few more like Cameron Rosser who are starting to get back into a bit of form and then you've got Zach Bayliss through the middle.
"They've obviously got a long batting lineup and we know that, but we'll be backing our bowlers to get the job done and our batsmen to either post a target to defend or chase whatever they post."
In the weeks leading up to the semis, Day felt his side needed to focus on their attitude during matches, saying he felt they had shown that by getting in the final.
"Last weekend we were quite switched on with that sort of stuff," he said.
"With the bat we obviously got a good start and then the boys through the middle realised there was an opportunity to put the foot down and did that.
"That's the kind of the thing we've been asking for.
"Then in the field we were a lot better, a lot more switched on, more proactive so that's something we'll be looking for this week and putting it up a notch being a semi against a strong opponent."
The weekend's other semi-final match will also be played in Parkes, with the Reedy Creek Raptors taking on the Colts at North Parkes Oval.
