At the AGM on August 18, 2020 a new committee was elected.
President: Wendy-Jane Saywaker, Vice-President: Joyce Death, Secretary: Beverley Rolfe, Treasurer: Judy Thomson and Committee members Katrine Capps, Suzanne Eldridge and Kay Kirwan.
Due to family commitments in Melbourne Wendy-Jane has been unable to take an active part in our activities but through the wonders of technology she is able to keep up with everything.
In keeping with virus restrictions we were unable to hold our usual Christmas celebrations with Cowra but the self-catered lunch on Friday, December 18, went really well. It was good to have the Friday card players involved.
Tuesday afternoon Rummykin and Scrabble has resumed as has Thursday afternoon Rummykin and the Friday Cards group is also up and running with everyone being aware of the need to maintain venue numbers and social distancing.
During the school holiday break Tai Chi practice is held at the Club between 9.30am and 10.30am followed by morning tea which gives our members a wonderful opportunity to get together for chat, a necessity for maintaining good mental health during what can be a very isolating time for those with family in other states.
After morning tea a few games of Rummykin, Scrabble or other board games helps keep the brain active.
Planning is underway for the COVID Safe Seniors Festival coming up in April so watch this space for details.
We look forward to continuing activities in 2021 being mindful of the latest measures to keep everyone safe from the virus and wish everyone a Happy New Year.
