That's the response so far from not only the Parkes community, but those from across the Central West, who have been donating gifts to children spending Christmas in out-of-home care, such as with an organisation and case workers.

Belinda and fellow organiser and friend Jasmyne Symington are on a mission to bring Christmas to as many children in the Central West in this situation as they can.

The women from Parkes only started their cause less than two months ago but word didn't really begin to spread until the start of December.

That aside, Belinda said they have "presents galore".

"It's massive, it's taken off!" She said.

"Woolies has even jumped on board donating $300 worth of lolly bags.

"People have just been so, so generous and we knew people would be but I thought we left it too late and that we would be hitting our heads against the wall."

An exciting addition to the cause has been the auction of a Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs jersey signed by its first grade squad with all the proceeds raised going towards buying Christmas presents.

Belinda reached out to the Bulldogs with a request that one of their players signed a shirt to auction-off, but the NRL club went one better and had the whole squad sign it.

"We were so excited and humbled, and we want to thank them so much," she said.

Belinda said it was hard to give an exact figure of how many kids are in out-home-care in the Central West with the number changing weekly.

But she confirmed that thanks to all who have donated they will be able to help hundreds of them.

"I've taken so many gifts down to our office," she said.

"Community Kids Parkes Early Education Centre (in High Street) have donated 40 presents and they have more to come!

"We want to say a massive thank you to everyone for donating, especially at short notice."

Belinda and Jasmyne will be collecting the last of the donations today and the Santa Claus drop-off to the children will take place on Christmas Eve.
